Day 2 at the Waterpark...

Well, we went back to the waterpark on Monday. Kassidy did a little bit better, although she was still very overwhelmed and confused about where we were or what we were doing. She did manage to splash around in the water a little bit, and maybe just barely enjoy herself. The worst part of the day was that I totally forgot to pack her swimsuit... so we had to buy one in the gift shop...and the smallest size they had was a 2T. It actually didn't fall off of her though, so we ended up in good shape. :) Fun times for sure!

Just feeling really blessed...

As some of you know, my sister-in-law and her family are expecting a precious little boy at the end of this summer. His name is Carter Brennan Hackleman. Carter has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called "Thanatophoric Dysplasia," which is a lethal form of dwarfism. In preparation for this event, we have all been doing some research and reading from families who have experienced similar tragedies. A friend at church told me about this blog that a member of the Christian group Selah created- AudreyCaroline.blogspot.com. It's a long blog and you really have to start at the beginning, but if you have time to read it, its really worth it. You will be blessed, that is for sure.
Anyway, in reading about all of the tragedy that has struck this family, other families, and knowing that it will soon strike our extended family, I have just really been feeling blessed. Blessed beyond what I deserve, beyond what I could ever ask for. God's ways are not our ways and sometimes we find ourselves asking "Why, God?" I am asking Him that very question; Why, God, did you choose to bless me? I am so grateful for His blessing and His favor, and I know I'll never understand His ways, but I am just so overwhelmed when I think of what He's done for me. It really helps me to keep things in perspective, and not to take anything for granted.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving me so much. Thank you for giving me the most precious gift of salvation; thank you for dying on the cross for me. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for giving me a husband that fears You and loves You and serves You. Thank you for placing a love for me in his heart. Thank you for drawing us together to be one. And thank you for the ever-precious gift of our baby girl, Kassidy. She never ceases to make me smile, and her sweet spirit overflows to
all that meet her. Thank you, God.
Thank you.
